ERT APPLICATIONS and GENERAL INFORMATION

Students in the 8th grade are eligible to apply as “ERTs In Training”. Students in Upper School will be full ERTs once all training sessions are complete. All students need to complete the application form, have two recommendations from either their Advisor, Mrs. Bagnell, Mr. West or Mr. Somerville, as well as the signature of their parent/s or guardian. This is a prestigious program that requires responsibility, character, and an interest in emergency response techniques/medicine. Students will meet with Ms. York every A Day (unless there is an All School meeting) and are required to attend CPR and First Aid training sessions held at school. New and Returning ERTs need to submit an application and attend all training.

By signing below, I understand that if I am selected for the ERT program that I will need to attend the mandatory CPR and First Aid training provided at Queen Anne School. I will need to attend an ERT meeting each A day (unless there is an All School Meeting) where I will have additional training, review past ERT emergencies, simulate and practice emergency techniques. I will need to check the Daily Announcements to determine if I am on ERT duty. I will need to sign out and return the pager each day to a designated location. If I lose or damage the ERT pager, I will need to pay $69 for a new pager to be purchased by the school. I understand that I will be caring for ill or injured persons and may possibly be exposed to vomit, blood, broken bones, and other injuries. I must respond when paged for an ERT call. I must care for the injured person/s, and stay with the injured person/s until told by Ms. York, another adult ERT or a Paramedic that they are taking over the care and that I am dismissed.
